A China supplier verification checklist should answer several different questions. Is the business identifiable? Is it the factory or trading company named in the offer? Can it make the specified product? Do the transaction details correspond to the agreed supplier?
No single screenshot, document or conversation answers all of those questions. Define the checks that matter to your order and record unresolved issues before making the next commercial decision.
Separate identity from capability
Supplier identity checks concern the legal business behind the offer and the consistency of the information supplied. Manufacturing capability concerns the product, process, capacity and schedule you need. A business can be identifiable without being suitable for your particular order.
Ask whether the contact manufactures the goods or coordinates another factory. A trading business is not automatically evidence of wrongdoing, but the purchasing model and any additional layer should be understood. TradeX’s proposition is to identify suitable factory options and coordinate directly against the agreed requirement.
A verification discussion sheet
| Area | Question to resolve |
|---|---|
| Business identity | What legal business is supplying the goods? |
| Manufacturing role | Factory, trader or another intermediary? |
| Product capability | Can the proposed facility meet the specification? |
| Production timing | What capacity and schedule are proposed? |
| Sample | Does the reference relate to the actual proposed production? |
| Documents | Are business and product details consistent? |
| Payment details | Has the beneficiary information been confirmed through a trusted channel? |
| Open findings | What needs clarification or a deeper check before approval? |
Treat changed details as a new question
If a beneficiary, company name or order detail changes unexpectedly, pause the transaction decision and confirm the change using an independently established contact method. Do not rely solely on the same message that announced the change.
For example, an offer issued by one business and payment instructions naming another deserve an explanation and confirmation. That discrepancy does not establish fraud by itself, but it should not be silently accepted.
Agree the depth of the check
Document review, supplier communication, sample coordination and an on-site assessment are different activities. Ask what has actually been done and what the findings establish. To verify a Chinese supplier for a significant order, the appropriate scope may extend beyond an initial identity review.
TradeX’s UAE team coordinates the requirement while its team in China follows up on the ground. Share the supplier details and product brief so the proposed verification work can be tailored to the order. Verification supports a purchasing decision; it does not remove the need for a clear specification, inspection plan and order terms.
Questions buyers ask
Does identifying a business prove product quality?
No. Identity, manufacturing capability and order quality are separate questions requiring appropriate checks.
Can TradeX review a supplier I already found?
Yes. Share the details, quotation and current order stage so the relevant verification and coordination scope can be assessed.
